Hello everyone,
Welcome to Issue #19 of A Twenty Percent Creative. It is amazing how fast the weeks are going nowadays. I had a generally good week - not particularly creative - but that’s okay. How was yours? To my surprise, I am still going strong with my vegetarian diet after 29 days. I feel great and have enjoyed introducing foods like chickpeas and lentils to replace meats and breads. I am getting more sleep than usual as well which has had a really positive effect on my mood and response to stress. I started to compile photographs from this year to include in my 2022 photo book. It is shaping up to be quite a diverse, eclectic collection of color and black and white photographs. I will be sure to share some spreads from the book as it comes together. I won’t be publishing a newsletter next Sunday. Issue #20 will be released on October 16th. If you have time, I would love to read about what you are working on. Please leave a comment below or send me an email message. I hope you have two wonderful weeks full of meaningful and fulfilling creativity.
Warm regards | Jeff
FROM MY FUJIFILM XT3
This week, I had two great opportunities to get outside for 30 minutes with my camera. I found myself standing in one place quietly watching the conditions and characters change in front of me. It was great to be still without the distractions of conversation, music, podcasts, videos, and social media. I enjoyed feeling the cool fall wind against my face and observing the interesting skies as twilight approached.

PRODUCTIVITY TIP
“I just need to ….”
“I am just going to …”
“It will just take …”
Just has a poor concept of time. Just introduces complexity. Just continues rather than finishes projects. Just downplays the amount of progress made on a given activity. A simple way to be more effective and ultimately productive is to remove the word “just” when thinking and speaking about projects in process.
